Hi there, I am Mario Meijer
With me, you will not only learn to play the bass, but also how to further develop your own style and musicality.
35 years of experience in music
- Codarts Rotterdam Conservatory – Bass guitar & double Bass, jazz/fusion program
- Extensive stage experience – played in countless bands and projects, from metal and rock to pop, soul, and jazz.
- 20 years of teaching experience – enjoyed mentoring many students of all ages at Markant and GIGANT
- Band coaching and workshops – within various talent development projects and schools
- Scoring, recording, and mixing – for bands and creative projects.
Bass Guitar Lessons
When and Where?
- Classes are Monday through Thursday.
- Standard duration is 30 minutes, open to other formats.
- Location: GIGANT Cursushuis, Nieuwstraat 379, Apeldoorn.
- You can start anytime in the year.

What to expect
I’ll teach you a solid technical foundation with lessons tailored to your level and goals, so I can help you progress in a focused and enjoyable way.
Don’t own a bass yet? No problem.
Rent one from me – complete with amplifier, cable, and tuner – for just €10 per month. Ask about the terms and conditions.
Band Coaching
Are you already in a band or want to start one? I can help you with a customized program, tailored to your ambitions. We’ll actively work on playing together, repertoire, and developing your own unique sound. Cost: €35 per hour.
No band yet, but curious? At GIGANT, I and other coaches facilitate talent programs like In The Band, where you can experience what it’s like to play together. You can find more information about this fantastic project on the GRAS website.
Instrument Orientation for Children and Young People
Would you like your child to make music but are you still unsure about which instrument to choose? In 12 lessons, I’ll introduce them to singing, keyboard, bass guitar, drums, and guitar. There are two groups: Kids Rock (ages 8-12) and Music Match (ages 12-16). Curious? Contact me and discover which instrument suits your child best!
